Sordes Pilosus
Sordes (demon or devil) pilosus (Hairy)
Two near complete specimens from the Upper
Jurassic sediments of Kazakhstan. These specimens show soft tissue
preservation and indicate the presence of body hair. Recently, the overall
hairy nature of these fossils has partly been attributed to preservation of
fragmented wing membrane fibres, giving a better understanding of the pterosaur
wing structure.
