Pterodactylus (flying finger) antiquus (ancient)
Details of this species was first published in 1784 by
Collini. This was called
the pterodactyle by Cuvier in 1809 and the original specimen was collected from the Lower Tithonian, Lithographic Limestone
at Eichstatt, Bavaria, Germany. Several specimens are known.
