Upper Jurassic Period
A previously unknown species of Azhdarchid pterosaur from Solnhofen, showing a
complete post-cranial skeleton. A displaced cervical vertebra at the end
of the spinal column suggests that the head was removed post-mortem. The
matrix where the skull would have been shows scale like particles which can be
seen under UV light.
