The Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaurs are classified as pterosaurs with a short wing metacarpal and a long tail. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but it is generally true. The Pterodactyloid pterosaurs are classified as pterosaurs with a long wing metacarpal and a short tail. |
