William Buckland 
(1784-1856)
Buckland was a clergyman and reader of Geology at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He described Dimorphodon macronyx found by Mary Anning at Lyme Regis, Dorset. He was also credited with finding the first Megalosaurus skeleton (the first dinosaur to be named) and producing two well published standard texts on Geology. Buckland was appointed Dean of Westminster Abbey in 1845.
